White christmas

For the first time in years we`ve got a good oldfashion white christmas. It has been snowing for three days, and it is app. 1/2 yard of snow outside. We had to digg out our youngest cat, Junior, who totally disappeared in the snow. He now refuses to go any where near our front door...

Here are the lovely presents I got from my quilting friends. I love them, thank you!! :)

Finally I have to tell you the coolest thing. I popped into my blog on christmas eve, and guess what? I was nr. 20 000!!! On christmas eve! How cool is that?? This cause for a give away in the near future.

Last minute presents

This month I ended up making a lot more homemade presents than I thought I would manage only a few weeks ago. I have put in long days and evenings at the sewing machine, and I have done a lot of stitching as well. Well done me! LOL

I love this little stitchery that Gail Pan released on her blogsite recently (see link in previous post). It is quick to make, and this is the first of three I have made.

Yesterday I finally got around to make a christmas stocking for my darling DS. The old one didn`t make it last christmas, and all year long I have reminded my self to make a new one. I found this cute panel from Nancy Halvorsen, and the whole thing only took a couple of hours to finish. Notice how I manage to put the hanging loop on the wrong side?

My next project will be finishing the christmas tree skirt I showed you in a previous post.

I wasn`t going to but I did it!!

I visited Lappemakeriet today, shopping for christmas presents for some dear friends. (Sorry, forgot my camera, I think I`ve got The Oldtimers, he, he). And there it was, hanging on the wall, next years BOM!!! And it looked much prettier in real life than the photo I saw in a Norwegian magazine. So I did it!! Even though I still have quite a few blocks to finish on the last BOM I joined. Yup, I did it! I put my name on the list (it was surprisingly easy), and I can`t wait for the first block to land in my mailbox.

I have made several of these "bagholders" (sorry, I don`t know the English word for it), I found the pattern in one of the latest issues of Quiltemagasinet. They were easy and fast to make, so I made ten right away.

Meet Pus, the latest addition to our family. He was my mother-in-laws cat, and moved into our home when she got sick and passed away. I am allergic to cats, but I have a soft spot for this old gentleman. He is the only cat allowed into my sewingroom (the other three manage to sneak in here quite often..), and he loves to take cat naps in my quilting basket.

Check out this cute little pattern that Gail Pan just released on her blog. A great idea for a quick gift, just in time for christmas.

A finish in the last hour

It is sometimes difficult to plan ahead, and this weekend I only just made my deadline. I had promised to sew a quilt to the annual christmas fair, and I showed you a peek of the top a few weeks ago. The fair was last Sunday, and I finished the quilt Sunday at 1pm! Puh!!

And here it is! (Not the best photo, the colors are brighter in real life). We sold tickets to a large number of people, and guess who won my quilt? My very good friend, Hege!!

The ladies has worked hard all year, and has made lots and lots of lovely things. Good job, gals!

Presenting my very first design!

Oh boy, it is quite nerveracking, this presentation of my first design! I made this tablecloth a while ago, and now I am working on the pattern. It is difficult exactly to describe my sources of inspiration. Those who know me well knows that it is always "cooking up there", and many of my ideas comes to me right before I go to sleep. Other times I get inspired by the fabrics, it is almost as if they talk to me (sound crazy??). This little, ever so simple tablecloth popped up in my head when I was fondling with a piece of fabric with tiny roses. The fabric took me years back, to happy childhood times, and I wanted to create a quilt that made me feel that way again.

In my opinion, I succeeded. I can`t help it, I still think the tablecloth is cute, cute cute!
