Christmas is coming

Christmas is coming up soon, and I have finally completed the top for the annual raffle that takes place in two weeks. I will give you a little sneak peak here, and promise to show you the finished result as soon as I have done the quilting.

It is truly a christmas quilt, no doubt about it! I listened to christmas carols the whole time I sewed (but then again I almost always do, lol)

I put the leftover scraps into a quilt to lay under my christmas tree. The old one got didn`t make it last year, thanks to Crazy Cat. I didn`t really mind, it was a ugly carpet anyway. This year however, he better keep his claws to himself! I don`t think he is a threat anymore, but what about our kitten, Junior?? Yikes, I think we have to organize guard teams this christmas!!

A family heirloom

My dear mother in law past away recently (which explains why I haven`t been blogging much the last couple of months). I regret to say that I do not know the history behind this beautiful old Singer, but I think it belonged either to her mother or grandmother.

I have put the machine on display, doesn`t it look great? In time the machine will passed on to my kids, as it should be.

Slowly getting there

I always knew this would be a project with no time limit (most of mine are), but it is nice to see some progress. I am more than half way there on this BOM from Lappemakeriet, which makes me eager to finishing it. I can`t wait to hang it on my wall (someday....)

PS: I know I have friends out there who up till now haven`t been able to leave comments on my blog. I have now changed the settings, so that you all can leave comments for me.

PPS: I am planning for a give away soon............

A finish

Being one of many with flu symptoms, I am staying home from work these days. It is boring, so I try to sew a little whenever I feel up for it. I just manage to finish this Waverley bag for my very good friend Agnethe. Her birthday is tomorrow, and I fear that I will not be attending her party :(

Have fun sneezing... I meen sewing!

Barbara has to place her order for the number of magazine subscription she wants by this Thursday. (Yup, in only two days). If you want to subscribe for Homespun, you have to order your subscription now.

Working on a new Waverly bag

This weekend I have been working on this Waverly bag top (hm, should have taken away the tablecloth before I took this picture). It is a present to a dear friend, and must be finished before Friday.

I love Leannes designs, they always cheer me up somehow. I have yet another bag in the making, but that project must wait until next year. I am starting to feel a little swamped these days, with all the projects I have to finish before christmas.

This book was delivered by the postman yesterday. It is a lovely book, with lots of great pattern for small wall quilts. I highly recommend this one :)

New book

Look what the postman brought me yesterday! A new addition to my private library.

The author is Berri Sue Gaudet, and the book is full of lovely ideas for gifts. Some of the projects takes only a few hours to make, others is more time consuming. Love it!!
