Drumroll please.....

...my Dear Jane adventure has started!! I am now a Janiac, and I love it! I recently spent a wonderful Saturday with a bunch of eager ladies and my favourite quilting teacher, Hanne Schneider.

Liv (in front) admiring one of Hannes quilts. Hanne has made several quilts using Dear Jane blocks.

Here it is! Hannes gorgeous Dear Jane quilt. Not all of the ladies plan to sew the whole quilt. I am - and I will not use a sewingmachine. My challenge to myself is; every stitch will be hand sewn!

And mayby one day I will make a Christmas Dear Jane? This lovely quilt is made by Hanne.

Kari in deep concentration :)

Thread, needles, chocolate, cake, fabrics - a big mess surrounded by happy ladies :)

I made these three blocks during the class, and the one below I made at home.

I am using repro fabrics from the Civil War, and Jane Austen fabrics. Some I have ordered from the US, and some from Denmark.

Have fun sewing!

  2. Wow, I'll give you a drumroll AND cymbal crash for doing it all by hand!! Did everyone in the class work by hand? I think I only saw one machine (by Kari) in the picture. How exciting! You can take your project with you anywhere!!

  4. That's quite some undertaking and doing it all by hand is amazing. Will you keep a record of how many hours it takes you to complete it?

  5. Her ser det virkelig trivelig ut.

    Laila
