Choosing fabrics for a new project

I am starting on another Goodbye-quilt. A dear colleague is retiring by the end of this year, and the plan is to make her a table cloth. Well, that is the plan, but I am also playing with the idea of making her a lap quilt.



This is the fabrics I plan to use. If I choose the table cloth the center will be a Dresden Plate. If I end up making a lap quilt there will be several Dresden Plates. What do you think? Table cloth or lap quilt?

    Beautiful fabrics, she will love them. Personally I would think a lap quilt is more useful, but she will love it whatever!
