Homespun abundance

Check out what I got in the mail yesterday! I ordered all these lovely magazines from Barbara at Quilt-Design (see my favourite shoplist on the right).



She still has a few left, so if you are interested in a copy all you have to do is to e-mail her. I had a little peek yesterday, and look forward to relaxing on the coach with these. The Aussies really know how to make good quilting magazines!

Quiltingtrip to Tønsberg

Yesterday Åse, Anne, Hege and I got in the car and drove to Tønsberg, the oldest town in Norway. It is a lovely little town by the sea, and the population explodes during the summertime. Our goal was to visit Quiltefryd, but first we had a delicious lunch on the pir. Check out the huge club sandvich on Åses plate! We had a really nice time, but missed Pia and Ingebjørg who unfortunately couldn`t make the trip.



After "filling up our tanks" we were ready to do some seriously shopping. This was our first trip to Quiltefryd, and we were not disappointed.



The shop is wonderful, two stories filled up with all the goodies a girl could want for. The staff was very friendly and helpful. As you can see on the right side of my blog, they made it to my list of favourite quiltshops.




Their walls was filled with lovely quilts, like this one. It is a shame that the trip down there takes a while, because they have really nice classes.



This is what I brought home. Three new books, patterns and wonderful fabrics for a new caleidoscope project. I also enrolled into their new BOM, a beautiful christmas wallquilt.



We also visited Lines Hobby (can`t find blog) were I bought three pieces of fabric. The black fabric is border fabric for my Manly quilt. The ribbons and buttons on the left side was purchased at Stoff og Stil in Drammen, on our way down.

Finishing those UFOs

I finally got around to finish some UFOs from the past. My darling DS gave me a big smile when he saw his new quilt. What more can a mum ask for? The quilt has wool batting, so he can keep his little body warm.



A while back I finished this quilt for my youngest son DO. He loves it and sleep under it whenever he can.



Now my son DD wonders when he gets his quilt. He loves fishing and everything that has to do with nature, so I am making him a wilderness quilt.

Back on track

At last my DS is back from the hospital, and we can enjoy the rest of the vacation. Having a quiltingproject at hand in the hospital was a great way to calm my nerves. My husband stayed with DS at night, and in the daytime I sat by my darlings bed, talking to him and sewing away on this BOM from Lappemakeriet.




I finished two blocks at the hospital, only 17 to go. The blocks are handpieced, and the finished quilt is going to hang in my livingroom. As you can see the fabrics are masculine, as the colours are inspired by mens clothing.

I am in a quilting mood these days, and have finished several UFOs the last few days. I will show you soon, but first I am going on a quilting trip to Quiltefryd tomorrow with the gals. I suspect that I soon can add another favourite quiltshop to my list. I`ll keep you posted.

Thank you!

To all you people out there who have sent me greetings; Thank you, thank you, thank you! Your support has meant the world to me in this difficult time, and still do. My darling little DS is still in the hospital, but no longer in intensive care. He suffers from a form of epilepsy called Lennox-Gastaut Syndrom, and there is no hope of him getting cured. Hopefully he will get better so we can leave the hospital soon. The callenge is now to get him to eat again. He don`t care much for food, so it`s a struggle. Tasty receipes is always welcome.

Difficult times

This last week has been difficult for my family and I, as my darling son DS has been hospitalized since Monday. Having really bad epileptic seizures, the doctors had no choice but to put him into a coma. Now we are waiting for him to wake up again, which can take days.

These are times when you find out who your true friends are, and I am thankful because I have so many. The support from friends and colleagues has ment the world in this difficult time. Thank you!
