Quilting for women and children in crisis

The ladys in my quilting guild has the last year worked on a Round Robin-project for Krisesenteret (center for abused women and children). The original plan was to make four wallquilts, each representing one of the four seasons. The task was to make a piece for each quilt that represented ones favourite feeling about that season. I made a leaf for the autumn quilt. For me that piece representet the clear fresh air you breathe in the autumn, and the vibrant colours you find out in the nature.

A bright head in the club came up with the idea to join the four quilts together into one large wallquilt. We will surely experience some challenges when it comes to sewing it together, but I think it is a marvellous idea!

Here you can see pieces with spring and summer motifs.

Mmm, a basket full of strawberries. For many the essence of summer :)

We are planning to finish the quilt in the fall, and I will keep you posted on the progress.

Have fun sewing!
